I have just learned of the passing of Maila Nurmi, the actress behind the scary, pop-cult character of Vampira. Perhaps you know her from "Plan 9 From Outer Space", the low budget Ed Wood Jr., Science Fiction classic. She apparently has no family, so please give her a moment in your thoughts and thanks to her for bringing life to such a beloved character.
