NASA is planning on shooting down an errant spy satellite before it comes crashing down on our heads next month, or, worse, falling into the hands of the ChiComs or somewhere unfriendly in the Middle East... (why does that conjure up thoughts of that movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy"?)...
Anyway, the Chinese have already demonstrated they have a good hand at plinking stuff out of orbit, I hope we can do the same or it's going to give them an un-needed boost of confidence in that area...
